History

GEA of Texas, Inc. has been a supplier of industrial automation components for over 50 years. The owner and founder is Marshall Gettys who was born in 1927 in Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Gettys attended Texas Tech and earned All-American honors as a defensive tackle on the Red Raider football team. After graduating with honors with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950, he served in the Navy on tours in the South Pacific.

Mr. Gettys partnered with William “Bill” Adair in 1965 and, later, Ralph Eads. The name “GEA” was derived from these three surnames. Mr Eads left the partnership in 1976, and Mr. Adair in 1986.

GEA maintains this work ethic today.
